Injunctions

Courts are turning increasingly to the use of injunctions to prevent wrongs from being done and to force parties to fulfill obligations.  There is a wide discretion available to the court to tailor-make an injunction to provide an appropriate remedy for every wrong.  Billington Barristers’ experience can help, whether you seek an injunction or are defending against one.  We are ready to act on pre-trial injunctions, on trial matters where permanent injunctions are sought, and on appeal.

Injunctions are often combined with applications for other relief, including for remedies in regulatory proceedings.  They are useful in breaches of contract, violations of fiduciary duty, to prevent threatened or ongoing wrongs (torts), and in shareholder oppression actions and other corporate disputes.

Rick Billington has lectured industry and professional groups on developing trends in injunctions.
